We redesigned the old fashioned shadow box plaque into a modern and progressive award. The form and finish have been modernized, with a unique way of displaying the graphics and information added inside the box. We make these plaques in a sustainably sourced bamboo but we can also use an alternative wood that is available. We print in full color and can laser engrave directly to the surface of the bamboo to meet branding requirements.

This is one of our most popular plaque designs. When we first designed this plaque we wanted to modernize an old fashioned looking design. Typically, shadow box plaques are made from a dark cherry coloured wood that has been spray painted with too many layers of clear varnish. The type of thing you may see in an old musty smelling basement surrounded by empty bottles of gin. We wanted to refresh the design by using modern materials and rethinking how the logos and text are displayed on the plaque.
With our new modern design, we have two floating aluminium panels inside the shadow box which creates a beautiful layering effect and interesting shadows. The box itself is normally made from a sustainably sourced bamboo and is made by our very skilled craftspeople and artisans. We pride ourselves on our quality woodworking skills. We finish the bamboo with only one layer of a special rubbing oil for a natural matte look. We never use toxic varnish or clear spray finishes on our wood products.
