It was a pleasure to craft these fun aluminum and wooden awards for Vancouver Island University.

We achieved an Island-like aesthetic using a laminated natural 3-ply bamboo base. Precision cuts to the wood gave it a rocky outer shape and allowed a 2mm aluminum sheet to sit down the middle.

The aluminum has a matte anodized finish and features UV flatbed prints - including a clear gloss line graphic - providing colored details to enhance the wavy, mountainous appearance.

The final product is a modern award and unique trophy design that is bespoke and on brand — meeting the brief set by VIU and ensuring the awardees receive beautiful and valuable recognition gifts.
