These awards may look simple but they were very challenging to make. Inside the Walnut wood base we made a custom LED lighting module that illuminated the acrylic when plugged in. We laser engraved the acrylic so when the LED were on, the engraving had “edge lighting” - a technique used in the sign making industry to make signage more legible in dim environments, to provide maximum illumination and impact. The LED’s were colour changing and able to toggle between the colour modes. As part of a last minute request by the client, we designed a portable and removable battery pack that was able to temporarily affix to the back of each award so they could illuminate on stage.
